Madeline's House and Piedmont Crisis Center are independent programs under the direction of Southside Center for Violence Prevention.

Madeline's House provides a 28 bed shelter, one of the largest on the East Coast. Piedmont Crisis Center provides 24 hour assistance to victims of rape & sexual assault.

The Staff

General Manager - Oversees daily administration and operation requirements of SCVP and Madeline’s House thrift stores.

Domestic Violence Program Director - Monitors and maintains house management. Develops and implements activities for residents and their children.

Sexual Violence Program Director - Provides direct services to women and children who are victims of sexual assault. Educates the community about sexual assault awareness. Oversees daily operation of Piedmont Crisis Center.

Case Manager - Interviews incoming residents and children. Assists residents with appropriate referrals and community contacts. Also aids residents with applications for housing and employment. Handles all school registration and correspondence.

Court Advocate - Prepares the residents for court proceedings, potential obstacles, and courtroom experience. Helps to identify safety plans.

Outreach Coordinator - Educates the community about domestic violence and sexual assault. Promotes both programs and the services offered by each.

Administrative Assistant - Responsible for office coordination, such as answering phones and doors, record keeping and accepts donations.

House/Weekend Manager - Responsible for well being of residents and operation of shelter during scheduled hours (nights and weekends).
